Day 27 - Winner to Sturgis, 275 miles - Saturday, August 2

It is now three weeks since Jon and I met up with Greg in Winner South Dakota to ride our motorbikes to Sturgis. We stayed that night in a nice motel in Winner, then rode into town and ate a great breakfast while waiting for Greg to arrive.

Here we are checking out of the motel. The lady who work there was very nice!

We did not get too far before my motorcycle had a problem. The throttle on the right carburetor got stuck wide open, and I had to sand down the slide a little bit. It's been working fine ever since!

As we travel, we always talk to other cyclists and people traveling the highways. We have met some very interesting people along the road !

Here we are taking a break in a bank parking lot in Rapid City, planning our route up into Sturgis.

We decided to take a "shortcut" on the south side of Sturgis to miss all the downtown traffic on the way to our campground. We rode on a Gravel road called old Stone Road that went by the Fort Made National Cemetery. There we met a nice fella named Chico who ended up camping near us at Sturgis.

We got into Sturgis and set up camp at the legendary Buffalo Chip Campground. It is a giant campground with  thousands of motorhomes and tents. Each night they have fantastic concerts. Tonight we saw the 80's band Human League and a few other great bands!

There are a lot of pretty girls walking around the campground selling shots of Yegor Meister, Jack Daniels, and whatever else you might want.

Onstage before and in between the bands, the Buffalo Chip girls modeled biker outfits and had bikini contests !

Tonight we hung out by the bar across the field from the stage. There was a lot of action here, especially with the Jägermeister girls!

The Jägermeister girls were a lot of fun! They gave out bandannas, T-shirts and other goodies in games and contests.

Here is Ace and Slo John on the Jägermeister motorcycle combo. We saw a fella riding this rig down the street with three Jäger girls on it!

Well, it was a great first night in Sturgis! We met lots of new friends and have a wonderful time.
